Carousel UK Tour 2018 on Tuesday 2nd October 2018
Carousel formed in 2015 after four established musicians and friends came together with one goal - to spread their stories and passion through their unique, captivating and emotional music. Their eclectic blend of Indie-Americana exudes influences such as the lyrical power of Bob Dylan and the energy and delivery of The Lone Bellow. Their brand of heartfelt, engaging music is breathing new life into venues all over the UK as the band begins to spread their gospel.
The band will debut on their first headline UK tour in late September-October 2018, with local support acts for each show, including: Harry Marshall, Lisa Wright, Melanie Baker, Alex Ohm, Emi McDade and more to be confirmed.
Carousel released their debut, self-titled EP in 2017, attracting attention from popular publications such as Maverick Magazine, RnR Magazine and The Mighty. Their prosperity is thickening into a gold of accolades - a productive year saw the band land them the reputable vote of ‘EP of the Year’ and ‘Favourite New Artist of the Year’ on Laurel Canyon Music as well as being named BBC Introducing in Essex ‘Sound of 2018’.
Midlands based songsmith; Alex Ohm has become a renowned name on the local music scene and is currently writing and recording new material to release later this year. Alex’s alternative, cinematic symphonies reflect the wide range of influences that inspire his work and come together to create his unique sound.
With a number of sold out shows already under his belt, Alex has also opened shows for the likes of Ian Brown, The Charlatans, Ocean Colour Scene and Peter Doherty to name a few as well as touring worldwide. Debut EP 'At first a drop, then a flood' was released in May 2017 to huge praise from radio and press alike. ‘Through the storm’ was taken from that EP and released as a single in October as well becoming the soundtrack for the John Lewis promotional video for their Birmingham flag ship store.
January 2018 saw Ohm release ‘Retreat’ into the world exhibiting a different side to Alex’s song writing; fusing indie, hip hop, and classical influences together seamlessly. Ohm launched the single with a sold out Birmingham show as well as dates in London and the iconic Rough Trade Records store in Nottingham in association with BBC Introducing and Y Not Festival.
