47Soul on Wednesday 14th February 2018

Following a sold-out album preview show at London’s Village Underground, the spectacular 47SOUL is back on the road for their 2018 UK Tour - and this time - they’re backed by the anticipated release of their brand new album, 'Balfron Promise'.

Enthralling and electrifying, 47Soul combines traditional Palestinian street music with bass-heavy dance beats, analogue synthesisers and hypnotic guitar lines. Their lyrics, delivered in tripped-out verses by the four members in a mixture of Arabic and English, embody a captivating celebration of movement and a irrefutable call for freedom.

Their new album, ‘Balfron Promise’, emerges as a product of the band’s three year residency in London, a profoundly unique experience for the four members and their music. The album’s themes are inspired by both modern-day London and the 100 year-old politics still influencing 47Soul’s story to this day. Socially topical and lyrically astute, Balfron Promise holds one promise, that their future will be written by no one but themselves.

Come join us for an unforgettable night of beats, bass and dabke at Brum’s Hare and Hounds. Doors open at 7.30pm.

Hare and Hounds is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible

NB All standing show & band on stage at 8.30pm.

47SOUL's music is described as the futuristic sound of a Palestinian wedding; true party music for the masses. Their music combines Debka, the traditional Palestinian street music and dance, with the deep beats and sounds of the fertile crescent area, from Iraqi Choubi to Lebanese Mijwiz. 47SOUL takes these sounds to the global dance floor with analog synthesizers, dub effects, and trance-inducing guitar lines. Their lyrics, mixing Arabic and English, focus on celebration, freedom and struggle for equality, inside Palestine and throughout the world.

47SOUL is an Electro Arabic Dabke (Shamstep) band formed in Amman Jordan in 2013. The members are rooted in Bilad Al-Sham, spanning the divides from Amman to the Galilee to Ramallah and the rest of the Palestinian Diaspora. This new sound of 47SOUL has rapidly amassed fans in the Arab World and Europe by blasting the electric Arabic Dabke sound through underground music scenes. On top of the beats that have been bumping in the Arab World for centuries, 47SOUL hypes it up with analog synthesizers, hypnotic guitar lines, and shattering verses from the four singers. Every show ends in relentless dance and trance from all parties involved. Their lyrics, mixing Arabic and English, call for celebration and freedom in the struggle for equality, inside Bilad Al Sham and throughout the world. The current lineup of 2016 includes: Z the People (vocals & synths) El Far3i (darouka, Mc/Vocals) Walaa Sbeit (percussion, Mc/vocals) El Jehaz (guitar & vocals)
