Sloth Racket + Piera Onacko
Music Genres
Experimental
Over the course of the past decade, the band Sloth Racket have earned their reputation as one of the most exciting groups on the scene, blurring the boundaries between composition and improvisation with a confident sense of style. As part of their 10th anniversary celebration, we are very pleased to be presenting Sloth Racket under the steadfast leadership of baritone saxophonist and composer Cath Roberts, with fellow saxophonist Sam Andreae, the Hunter brothers Anton (guitar) and Johnny (drums), and double bassist Seth Bennett.
Piera Onacko is a Birmingham-based keyboardist with a fantastically broad stylistic palette. Whether playing straight-ahead jazz or experimental pop-tinged electronica, Onacko has a unique talent for building complex soundscapes with layers of electronic texture and melody-driven groove.
