Hannah's Little Sister | Stores | Sara Wolff on Thursday 9th September 2021
UPDATE 5/9/21: Earlier this week, A Burial At Sea became aware of serious allegations made against their bassist, with who they have now parted ways. Unfortunately, this means they’ve had to pull out of the gig on Thursday night. We want to thank the band for the swift and transparent way they have handled this situation.
Stores have stepped in and will now be joining us for the gig with their amazing lyrically-focused indie-rock. Listen: storestorestores.bandcamp.com/
Bed and Breakfast presents A Burial At Sea, Hannah’s Little Sister, and Sara Wolff at the Bloom Building.
The next B&B extravaganza takes us over the River Mersey to the Wirral, with some of the region’s finest musicians on the bill. All three acts have released bodies of work in the past year, so we’re aiming to give them the belated release blowout bash they all deserve!
A BURIAL AT SEA - “Fun” is hardly the first word that springs to mind when speaking of instrumental post-rock music. In a genre defined by self-seriousness, A Burial At Sea are the outsiders of the outsiders. The usual rock n’ roll setup of guitar, bass, drums is bolstered by a mini two-man horn section, which has resulted in the band to be labeled as “trumpet-core” and “post-rock mariachi”.
HANNAH’S LITTLE SISTER - ‘Shit-rag songs played by really ugly people’
SARA WOLFF - Sara Wolff's lyrical alt-folk is a reassuringly real scrapbook of cautionary tales about days in bed, fraying relationships and botched social interactions whilst navigating the journey into adulthood. Her debut EP, 'When You Left The Room’, is wonderfully wonky yet understated, recalling the off-kilter approach of Fiona Apple and Cate Le Bon.
The Bloom building is wheelchair accessible and has an option for zero-step entry. No strobe lights will be used during this event. Alcohol and soft drinks will be available to purchase through the Bloom Building’s bar, with all profits going to the Open Door Charity.
Music Genres: Folk, Indie, Indie Pop, Post Rock
