Algorhythm 004 w/Rex The Dog on Friday 26th April 2019

Things have been quiet of late here at Algorhythm HQ, however the crew are back with a bang and following a short break from our 00’ series we are back with what should be our biggest party yet.
After the disappointment we all felt when Rex the Dog’s flights were cancelled on the day of Algorhythm 003, we thought for our next event there would be no one better to bring to Belfast other than the man himself. So here we have it, the return of Rex. Not only have we brought Rex back, but we have stacked the line up with top class local producers and DJs. This all accompanied by a larger venue, with an intense visual lighting rig supplied by Visual Intensity and a whopper sound-system. The crew have pulled out all the stops for this one and this is definitely not to be missed.

Here’s a sneak peak of who will be on music duties throughout the night…

Ozzie – Algorhythm’s very own Ozzie will be kicking things off behind the decks. Having only broke into the scene just over a year ago, Ozzie has established himself as one of the finest up and coming DJ’s in Belfast, playing at DSNT’s NYE Rave at S13 and supporting the likes of KETTAMA, Chris Nez and 999999999 at Industry’s Boxing Night party to name but a few. Ozzie has also featured on Belfast Underground Radio representing the Algorhythm crew, making a name for himself in the Belfast scene. His musical versatility is one of the most impressive strings to his bow and is what makes him stand out from the crowd. From heavy industrial techno such as the raw and gritty set played at DSNT’s NYE Rave to lighter lo-fi house and garage at Algorhythm #002 with KETTAMA, Ozzie is sure to set the tone for the night and do the Algorhythm crew proud.

Carlton doom - We welcome back our good friend Chris Hanna to the Algorhythm decks. Having graced our stage before by providing a wicked set at our sold out impromptu free rave for Algorhythm 003 as well as speaking at our mental health ‘Rave For Life’; this man needs no introduction. His love of music shines through with the range of musical genres that he explores during his sets and the pure party energy he possesses would inspire any crowd to keep dancing all night long. Carlton Doom is also doing mad bits in the production scene with his latest track being released on OR:LA’s Label Deep Sea frequencies.

JC Williams - The Belfast born acid king will be getting the vibes going with a DJ set before Rex’s live show. JC has been around for a long time and is one of the veterans here in Belfast, having played at events such as AVA festival, Next Step Forward Festival in London, Jika Jika, DSNT, Beat BBQ and Pygmalion in Dublin to name but a few. Over the years he has supported some heavyweight talent such as Laurent Garnier, Radio Slave, Butch, Dense & Pika, Nicole Moudaber and Paul Woolford. His impressive resume ticks all the boxes plus a few more boxes we didn’t even include. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for us on the night.

Rex – Rex The Dog A.K.A Jake Williams makes and performs his own music with analogue electronics and a self-built Modular Synthesizer. He carries this precious machinery around the world, bringing his distinct sound to packed out dance floors across the world. Everywhere from Berghain’s Panorama Bar to an intimate pop up gig in a Barcelona record store. Rex has released on Kompakt Records since his first EP ‘Prototype’ in 2004, as well as Kitsuné and Southern Fried. It’s safe to say that Rex The Dog is at the forefront of live electronic performance and his distinctive sound will be a hit with the Belfast crowd.
Oh, and did we mention that Rex The Dog used to go by the name JX back in the 90’s and produced a plethora of trance classics including chart-toppers ‘There’s nothing I won’t do’ and ‘Son of a gun’. Y

You may not know them by name, but we’re fairly confident you’ll know them to hear….
