Wired on Saturday 15th June 2019
Following on from the success of the sold out Galentines Party, DJ Time of the Month is ecstatic to present a night of cultivated experimental electronic music in the intimate setting of The Menagerie.
Experimental music, but make it fun.
With two live sets and two DJ sets, the night will be a serving of sound art layered between two slices of club bangers to create a night of pure, unfiltered music and emotion. We want you to listen, feel, move and express on this genre expansive voyage of electronic music.
We are delighted to be teaming up with Another World Belfast for the event. To support the work they're doing we ask you to bring donations along to enable the valuable work they're doing, by providing the basic resources that many of us take for granted to vulnerable individuals in the community. Donations can be in the form of nappies, sanitary products, new underwear for adults and children, toiletries, and there will also be a bucket for cash donations to this amazing organisation!
As always, the emphasis of the night is inclusivity and the celebration of coming together to give ourselves to the music.

DJ TIME OF THE MONTH
Hiva Oa is the Belfast-based alternative/electronic trio Stephen Houlihan, Christine Tubridy and Chris McCorry. Following a single release and run of gigs at the start of the year the band are in the process of finishing of their eagerly awaited album. This will be a hardware only performance, expect agitated rhythms and dark noise.
Liam McCartan aka Son Zept is a electronic musician and composer from Belfast, Northern Ireland. McCartan is also a PhD composition research student at the Sonic Arts Research Centre of Queen’s University Belfast. His 2018 'Q2B EP' was regarded as '...one of the most exciting, forward-thinking electronic releases to emerge from here in some time. Parallels could be drawn with the likes of Autechre or Aphex Twin from an experimental standpoint.' Son Zept will be performing a live set, which promises to be over-brimming with the reverence and atmospheric allure of club inspired sound art.
DJ Time of the Month
Newly emerged onto the Belfast electronic music scene, through the support of the GIRL DJ workshops (under DJs Marion Hawkes and Claire Hall), DJ Time of the Month (Julie Adams) brings a melting pot of high-energy, rhythmic selections, always with the intention of movement and disinhibition. Her sets are a celebration of euphoric music throughout the decades, with a nod to the influence of queer culture on clubbing. Expect lashings of acid and breakbeat on the night (and probably some disco).
Making his DJ debut, emerging Irish producer DJ Pigeon creates moody, intricate tracks that beautifully blend together the melodic and rhythmic to produce a captivating ambient techno sound. Being highly influenced by the likes of DJ Koze and Studio Barnhus, his warm-up set will take you on a voyage through warm and sultry sounds, cultivating the entry point into the rest of the night.
Music Genres: Acid House, Breaks, Electro, Electronic, Techno
