The Metatrons are a new-wave-y riot-pop band, with lots of melody and heaps of tune spinning around the fuzzy guitars.
Formed in 2011 and releasing their debut album 'Between Planets' the same year, the band played with the likes of The Primitives and Echobelly, before releasing their 2nd album - 'Patterns of Chaos' (esprit de corps records, 2016).
This album received great reviews and airplay on 6music, Amazing Radio and many more. The video for the single, 'Smile (don't let me down)' was played on SKY TV several times and earned the band lots of new fans.
After several years of touring and playing with Altered Images, The Membranes, Dodgy, The Subways, The Blockheads, Shonen Knife and more the band began work on their 3rd album, 'Deconstruction' for the newly-resurgent CHAPTER 22 records and is due for release in 2020.
Simon Love writes songs about hate, marriage, Elton John and how much he fucking loves you.
Formally of John Peel 'favourites' The Loves, his first solo LP 'It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time' came out on Fortuna Pop in 2015 and got great reviews:
'Love's songs encompass all of pop history...very good indeed'
Q Magazine 4/5
'Love comes on like a potty-mouthed UK version of Father John Misty'
Shindig Magazine 4/5
It was nominated for (but didn't win) the Welsh Music Prize in 2016. He was the best dressed though.
His second record 'Sincerely, S. Love x' came out in 2018 on Tapete Records (home to Lloyd Cole and Robert Forster amongst others) and it too got great reviews:
'Unaffected horn-filled pop with witty lyrics that get straight to the point'
Uncut Magazine 8/10
'The DH Lawrence of 21st century affection'
Record Collector 4/5
The lead single 'Not If I See You First' had a lot of airplay on 6 Music with Stuart Maconie describing it as 'Just brilliant pop music'.
He's toured the world with his backing band, The Old Romantics and has supported the likes of Wreckless Eric, Euros Childs, Sweet Baboo and The Wedding Present.

THE THIRD CUT
The Third Cut make various sounds in the name of pop. Sometimes a fuzzed up guitar attack, sometimes nothing but a rudimentary burbling synth and a saxophone, but always with a tune in its heart.
The group is based around the songs of Richard Adderley, once upon a time guitarist with Jack and The Boyfriends, now back after a ten year hiatus to share some of his stockpile of 200-plus songs.
