Completed by 1573, Estbury Hall as it was formerly known, was built for Clement Sysley and his growing family. This rare example of a late 16th-century brick-built Gentry house tells an extraordinary story of survival. Threatened with demolition, The National Trust, who recognised its significance, acquired it for the nation in 1918.
