Reviews of Bradford College David Hockney Building in Bradford

Bradford College David Hockney Building venue information

Adding to the regeneration of Bradford, our new multi-million pound campus was ready to welcome learners, providing an innovative and technology rich learning environment in the heart of the city.

The eco-friendly campus design has a light and airy feel and is sympathetic to the large-scale mill and warehouse buildings that characterise parts of Bradford.

The new campus, named after famous Bradford College alumnus and internationally acclaimed artist, David Hockney has transformed the learner experience using new styles of learning, which embrace cutting edge technologies.

The David Hockney Building at Bradford College has been nominated for a number of awards, including the BIM4SME Awards, Concrete Society Awards, West Yorkshire LABC Building Excellence Awards, and the Construction News Awards. The iconic building has also been selected to feature on the front of the Graphisoft ArchiCAD 19 box cover and CD packaging, as a signature building in the industry. ArchiCAD software is an international product, which means The David Hockney Building is been seen on a global scale.

Realistic work environments are open to the public, with opportunities to showcase learning activity through open plan areas. With our learners in mind, we consulted our students to find out what they wanted to see in the new build.

Measuring 23,000 m ² in size, the new six-storey building sweeps up Great Horton Road and has been built on the College’s former city centre sites (Westbrook Building) and Randall Well Building.

The College has undergone a £2.8m refurbishment and extension of the Lister Building which accommodates a library, café and exhibition area.

To arrange for a tour of The David Hockney Building, please contact Roy Ward from the Student Recruitment Team via email: r.ward2@bradfordcollege.ac.uk. Tours are available every Wednesday and Friday on request.
