The Nurture Barn is a very clean and calming, upmarket indoor and outdoor play venue, opened in August 2014, having been awarded Runner Up for the best day out by Essex Mums 2015. No bookings required or maximum stay, for babies and toddlers under 5 only, filled with wooden, inspirational toys to fire up their imagination with a great baby and toddler friendly café in Great Bardfield, same turning as The Blue Egg - postcode CM7 4PY. Voted Runner Up as Best Indoor Play Place by Essex Mums 2015. Please note our café tables are provided for our café guests to eat our food only.
We are open 7 days a week and our opening hours are: Mon/Tues/Thurs - 9-3pm, Wed/Fri 9-5pm and Sat/Sun 10-5pm. Weekends tend to be nice and quiet.
Entry is £1 under 6m. £3.50 6m-2y and £5 2y+. If you have twins/multiples, if it full price for the 1st and £1 thereafter. All classes are £5 including barn entry, so if you child is over 2 they are ultimately free and if 6m-2y, you will need to top your £3.50 entry by £1.50 -see activities.Activities Discounts - Mondays is all day entry at £2.50. After 2 pm is £2 per child entry 7 days a week. On Wednesday and Friday afternoons we open until 5pm so come and play for 3 hours at £2 each. We welcome childminders and offer a free hot drink for you between 9-10am everyday and on Thursdays a free hot drink and cookie.
After 2pm, 7 days a week we offer a slice of homemade cake and a coffee at just £3.50. We have a party room to hire which is also used as a private dining room for meetups with kids. We hold 1 year old birthdays parties downstairs. We have on lots of Activities - all kids classes are 'pay as you go weekly', just call us that week and most cost £5 and included in your entry: Dance, Barn Owl music classes, miniature pony riding (£3.50 extra), breast feeding advice, baby led weaning group, antenatal breast feeding preparation, dance, nursery rhymes, mini gymnastics, British sign language signing, arts and crafts, ceramic keepsakes with Painted Peppermint.
