The stunning Thameside Promenade in Reading runs along the south side of the Thames. It's a wide concrete path with a broad expanse of mown grass and trees to the side. There's plenty of room to walk side-by-side and space on the grass for children to run around.
The opposite river bank offers attractive views of Caversham Court gardens, St Peters Church, Christchurch Meadow and The Warren. There is a designated swan sanctuary near Caversham Bridge and you may spot the odd exotic-looking bird that has escaped from Beale Park upstream!
