Boomtown Unboxed is a "cinematic digital souvenir" that has been sent out to 76,986 people after the festival this year.
Boomtown Unboxed delivered tens of thousands of “cinematic, hyper-personalised” video stories to each person via the Boomtown app a week after the festival hosted its grand opening ceremonies, serving as digital souvenirs.
Collaborating with live entertainment technology experts Amplify and digital creative architects Monks, the team behind the festival has called it a "world-first in festival storytelling" and something “never before seen in live events”.
In a statement, Boomtown Co-founder Chris Rutherford said, “Boomtown has always been full of magic. This year, for the first time ever, you can take that magic home in your own personal film, made just for you.”
Rutherford goes on to call Unboxed a “true world-first”: “It’s your adventure, your memories, your Boomtown story, and just like bringing home a holiday keepsake, it’s captured so you can relive it again and again.”
The festival, named ‘Chapter 4: Power of Now’ this year, ran from Wednesday 6th August to Sunday 10th of August at Temple Valley in South Downs, Hampshire, England.
Among the hundreds of acts who performed this year were Sean Paul, Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, Nia Archives, Overmono, Spice, Fat Dog, Maribou State, and My Nu Leng, who performed their final set before the duo split.
Boomtown has announced its return in 2026 with ‘Boomtown Chapter Five: Radical Redesign’ from the 12th to 16th August.
