For the fifth year running London party promoters The Doctor’s Orders are celebrating the life and work of the incredible James “J-Dilla” Yancey; the man many people consider to be the greatest hip-hop producer of all time.
Five years after his untimely death from complications brought on by Lupus disease, J-Dilla’s status and appeal continues to grow. For this special Manchester show The Doctor’s orders have teamed up with local hip-hop promoters Juicy, bringing an all star line-up of talent to The Deaf Institute on Friday 4th February.
Regular names at the J-Dilla Changed my Life experience have been joined by none other than local legend Mr Scruff, with all DJs spinning exclusive J-Dilla related sets for free to raise as much money as possible for The J-Dilla Foundation and Lupus UK.
Those lucky few in attendance will not only be treated to an incredible night of music but also presented with the chance to get their hands on t-shirts exclusively printed by Dephect clothing for the event with all proceeds from these and the door going to charity.
All proceed from the night will be donated to the J-Dilla Foundation & Lupus UK
DJs performing for free on the night in loving memory are:
Room 1- Dedicated to the work of J-Dilla
