After its successful first year where the people of York and those living further afield flocked to see headliners; The Pigeon Detectives and The Sunshine Underground, Yorfest is back. With some help from outside of Yorkshire this year, the one-day music festival proves to be packed with quality artists at The Knavesmire on Saturday 24th September 2016 from noon.

Si Roe, the Festivals Event Manager says ?After our first festival where people enjoyed the great acts and bands basking in the sunshine, we?re pleased to say, we?re back! We?ve only gone and secured The Lightning Seeds and The Rifles?

Yorfest has two stages and over 23 live acts performing during the day, which is on the Bustardthorpe field, adjacent to York Racecourse from noon. Along with great music, there is fantastic Yorkshire Food available from the Real Beef Burger Company, and a quirky 1967 Citroen Van, where the Pizza Fella sell his delights. Local real ale micro-brewer Andy Herrington will be selling his popular Ainsty Ales, as well as two on-site bars. Yorfest is supporting the amazing Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and the fantastic work of the St Leonard?s Hospice; a charity which is close to the hearts of all those involved.

Yorfest is only in its second year, arranged and run by local music lovers alongside their full time jobs. Although 2015 was popular, if the people of York and the surrounding areas become faithful fans on an annual basis, this will ensure that it remains on the festival scene for years to come.

People will not only be able to enjoy indie style popular music and great quality food, but also a relaxed atmosphere where they can let their hair down.

Performer Twinnie Lee Moore, who is headlining the acoustic stage said ?I really can't wait to play in my home town, what better way to promote my debut EP than at Yorfest?

Tickets are £20 for adults and over 16?s, £10 for under 16?s and those under 10 are FREE with a full paying adult.
