Dubtendo and Sub Culture are the newest spaces announced by the indie Derbyshire festival.

Y Not Festival has announced two new music spaces in its upcoming edition. The indie festival returns to Derbyshire this summer, from Thursday 30th to Sunday 2nd August.
The festival’s two newest spaces are the high-energy Dubtendo and custom-built underground rave space Sub Culture. The eponymous music and performance collective behind Dubtendo, known for fusing video game soundtracks with electronic music, features immersive visuals, unique performances and thundering basslines. On the other hand, Sub Culture’s custom-built space takes inspiration from Peak District folklore and UK soundsystems for an atmospheric rave experience.

Y Not Festival’s late night programme is also expanding, extending to The Quarry and its Silent Disco experience; the punk, rock and metal-inspired The Giant Squid curated by Scruff of the Neck; cabaret club experience Flamingo Jack’s; 80s anthem-laden Club Malibu, and more.
Beginning in 2005 as a house party, the festival was once known as The Big Gin Festival before renaming to Y Not Festival in 2007 and relocating from the Peak District to Pikehall in Derbyshire. This year’s edition sold out in February, and will see Two Door Cinema Club, The Streets, Dizzie Rascal, The Libertines, and more take to the stage from 30th July to 2nd August.
