Rising stars Rachel Sermanni and Dot JR are set to headline at this year’s Solus Tent, helping mark the 10th anniversary of The Wickerman Festival

As the emerging talent stage of the festival, Solus celebrates the finest new acts on the Scottish music network and this year’s line-up doesn’t disappoint - with Jack Townes and Dam Mantle also scheduled to appear.

Rachel Sermanni will headline on Friday 22nd July. Championed by Brit award winners Mumford and Sons, the 19 year-old singer/songwriter was a highlight of last year's Wickerman Festival.

Rachel said: “I’m delighted to have been asked back to Wickerman after having so much fun last year in the Acoustic Village. It’s a real honour to have been asked to headline Solus which has built such a fabulous reputation for showcasing new acts over the years. July can’t come quick enough for me!”

Stornoway musician and superstar in the making Dot JR, who headlines on Saturday 23 July, has also been making his mark on the music scene, famously remixing Tinie Tempah’s ‘Wonderman’.

Further highlights at Solus will be four-piece Glasgow band Jack Townes and Dam Mantle, a solo star who also hails from Scotland’s largest city. A whole host of other bands and solo stars will also grace the stage including Bear Bones, Blochestra, Endor, Desalvo, Davey Horne, Black Sun Drum Corps, Randolphs Leap, RM Hubbert, Citizens, Vukovi, Miaoux Miaoux, Reverie, Letters and Trapped in Kansas.

Festival coordinator, Helen Chalmers, said; “There is some amazing up-and-coming new talent in Scotland, and the calibre for this year’s festival is phenomenal. For our tenth anniversary celebrations we are going all out to put on the best festival we can, and Solus this year will really make its mark.”

Taking place on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 July at East Kirkcarswell Farm in Dumfries & Galloway, the tenth festival will feature ten stages, including Solus, Summerisle Stage, Scooter Tent, The Acoustic Village, Axis Sound System Reggae Tent, Bass Camp, Greenman Inn, Headphone Arena, Ho Down Wendy House, and for the first time the goNORTH Festival Tour Stage.

Further line-up announcements and details of the additional on site entertainment will be released in the coming months.
