Nicky Romero is hot property. With a globetrotting schedule, releases on Spinnin' Records and support from some of the biggest names around, the future looks bright for the 23 year old Dutchman.

We chat to Nicky ahead of his Bitch double whammy in Manchester and Glasgow on March 31st.

You’re playing a double whammy for Bitch on March 31st, in Manchester AND Glasgow. Are you looking forward to it? Have you heard much about Bitch’s nights?

Yes very much so, I love coming out to England, English people are always up for a party and so am I!

With Manchester being Bitch’s home, it’s always a bit special. Have you played in Manchester before?

No I have not, I'm really excited to come over!

What have you heard about how the Manchester people like to party?

I heard and experienced that UK punters in general are mad, just the way I like it.

Your track 'Toulouse' recently came out on Spinnin’ Records. Can you tell us a little bit about it? What was your inspiration for it?

In get inspiration from all kinds of music, but for 'Toulouse' I did not really derive my inspiration from one specific track. I was just trying out things and this then kind of grew into what it is through a lot of trial and error. I'm chuffed with the outcome though, we just did a nice remix package too, Tommy Trash and Chocolate Puma did an amazing job.

What’s your most prized possession?

Pffffff that is a hard one. If I have to choose, I’d say my motorbike.

What would you say is the secret to a DJ’s success now?

Making good music first and foremost. I think it is very hard to break through as just a DJ nowadays.

If you won the lottery what would be the first thing you bought?

My own fully tricked out studio.

With summer finally on the horizon, can you let us in on any exciting plans you have, Ibiza maybe?

Yes I am going to be resident at David Guetta’s FMIF party in the Pacha this season.

What do you want to say you’ve done this year when it gets to midnight on December 31st?

I would love to be able to look back and say I did a collab with Axwell. I am a big big fan of his!

Orange Juice or Coffee in the morning?

Orange Juice please!

Describe a typical day in your life…

When I am traveling to do gigs it is quite a rigid schedule of flying, trying to catch an hour of sleep here or there, doing a gig and flying out the next day again. When I am at home I either hang with friends, but most of the time I spend in the studio.

How do you deal with criticism?

I try to take it on the chin and learn from it.

Who is your idol?

I have many to be honest. I look up a lot to David Guetta, Axwell… basically I admire people that take a risk and follow their heart. If you can make money with what you are passionate about that makes you idol material in my opinion.

What were your highlights in 2011?

Not to sound corny but 2011 was one big highlight for me. So much crazy stuff happened I sometimes have to pinch myself to see if it is all real.

And finally, what can we expect from you on March 31st?

A night full of madness, energy and great music
