The first music festival of its kind every detail has been thought out to provide a celebration of the latest live talent while putting ?green? back in to the festival scene promoting environmentally friendly practices. From the UK?s largest solar panel staging to the eco toilets and biodegradable cups and food trays even the food will be 100% free farm with street stalls celebrating plant-based food from around the world. Vegan host Claira Hermet, from Radio 4 and the resident DJ on BBC Radio London?s The Scene ? celebrating emerging talent, will lead the show with acts including UK grime sensation Stormzy?s sister Rachel Anson, Gorgon City lead vocalist Josh Barry, House of Grae and DJ Melody Kane who has appeared at the MOBO awards and is the only resident DJ for urban media network SBTV as well as a host of other stations. Held at Lee Valley White Water Centre, which was built as part of the 2012 Olympic Games, festival goers are being urged to use public transport to cut down on carbon emissions. With over 23,500 tonnes of waste estimated to be generated every year by festivals and the huge impact on the environment each event brings VeeLyfe is aiming to showcase a more sustainable approach to live music events.
