Following 22 years as one of the UK's best known festivals, V Festival bosses have announced that the event will undergo a rebrand in 2018, after main sponsor Virgin have pulled out of any involvement.

Festival Republic have however confirmed that the event will go ahead as normal in the same locations and on the same weekend, potentially expanding to three days from the previous two and will still continue with the pop and dance line ups of recent years.

The festival started back in 1996 when it was known as V96, however after 2003 it was known simply as V Festival. Early headliners included the likes of Blur, Pulp and The Verve, when the line ups followed a more alternative theme than recent years, which have seen the likes of Jay Z, Justin Bieber and Rihanna perform.
