UK's top urban acts head to London’s newest festival

London?s top acts from across the urban music scene are heading to Croydon for the capital?s newest festival this summer.

The Butterfly Effect Festival takes place on 28 and 29th July and is set to showcase major talent from hip hop, rap, afrobeats and R n B including special guest DJ BBC 1 xtra?s Charlie Sloth. DJ Tiiny, DJ Montana, Kenny Allstar and Afrobeats artist Silvastone. The Butterfly Effect Festival is the first of its kind for the capital sealing its place as the hottest destination for Londoners with Stormzy, rap duo Krept and Konan and Michael Dapaah all coming from the town. Over 20,000 people are expected to flock to Lloyd Park with tickets starting at £35 and easy transport links into central London and the south coast. Festival producer Charles Intsiful said: ?It?s time that Croydon had its moment in the spotlight and we?re proud to be part of that. The area is rich in urban talent, creativity, and culture and we?re glad to be working with artists, creatives and local partners to give everyone a weekend to remember.? The BRIT school, former home to Adele, and Amy Warehouse, will take part in the 2 day event giving festival goers the rare chance to see emerging and unseen performances as well as globally acclaimed acts such as Shola Ama and Kele Le Roc and a host of female talent who between them have sold millions of records. With its own tram stop, and minutes away from East Croydon?s mainline Station, Lloyd Park will offer one vast main stage and three marquee arenas that will, between them, cover a broad array of sounds and hours of non-stop music on high quality sound systems. Visitors will also be treated to a wide selection of street food stalls offering food from across the globe with all tastes catered for.
