Powerboat GP presents the final round of the UIM F4S World Championships, the UIM GT15, GT30 and OSY400 European Championships and the RYA F2 British Masters

The National Watersports Centre will once again play host to an international powerboat-racing extravaganza!

2014 sees the final UIM F4s World Championship series event as well as the UIM GT15, GT30 & OSY400 European Championships taking place at the picturesque venue in Holme Pierrepont. With so many titles up for grabs, the competition promises to be intense with teams from all over the globe arriving to take on the British drivers in home waters and compete for ultimate glory.

Featuring Catamarans, Monohulls and Hydroplanes there is something to entertain everyone in this full-on 2-day competition. Britain will be represented in every category and competitors as young as 10 in our junior category will be taking on the challenge.

Entertaining, thrilling and exciting are just some of the words you could use to describe the national and world-class sport of Powerboat Racing. With speeds potentially reaching in excess of 120 mph in the F2 class, this action packed, water based form of racing is fast becoming one of the most professional and popular forms of competitive motorsport and we once again look forward to including the F2 Match Race championship at our event program this year.

One of the reasons for Circuit Racing Classes popularity is the fact that many of the classes are 'stock engine classes', and any tuning or modification to the original engines is strictly forbidden. This keeps the financial running costs to a minimum for powerboat clubs and teams as well as ensuring that success will come to the most talented and knowledgeable powerboat drivers. We are also very fortunate that many of our racing classes are now EPA compliant.

The sport is governed nationally by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and Internationally by the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), the Powerboat GP series continues to develop with rules introduced and modified to ensure that the discipline is as safe and fair as possible for all involved.

Powerboat GP?s Jason Brewer Commented ?We are extremely proud to host an event of this magnitude in the UK. All of the Powerboat GP staff have worked very hard to make this event happen and we are looking forward the challenge ahead.

He continued, ?Powerboat Racing is so exhilarating to watch. The action is fast & furious and what better place to watch it than the fantastic facilities at the National Water Sports Centre where you?ll be able to get up close and personal with all the action.?
