Transmission Funk with Truss, Clouds and J. Tijn

If no nonsense techno is your thing, Transmission Funk's heavyweight rave this weekend will have you chomping at the bit. Hooking in three underground outfits very much at the peak of their powers, Transmission Funk have launched an essential rave for those who love their techno dark and fierce.

Taking the limelight at Joshua Brooks this Friday will be the unforgiving sounds of Tom Russell, AKA Truss. Using hardcore and rave influences and encasing them inside a snarling, techno shell, Truss has become an artist renowned for not holding anything back.

His thunderous sets see him use industrial, EBM, italo, acid house as reference points, re-imagining them in an abrasive, brutal manner that never fails to incite animalistic rave behaviour. Check his appearance in the Boiler Room to see what we mean.

Ferocious Scottish two piece Clouds are next up. The past few years have seen Calum Macleod and Liam Robertson really come into their own, creating hooligan techno of the highest order for imprints like Soma, Fifth Wall and Turbo. 

Pennyroyal favourite J. Tijn rounds off the headliners. Since making a stunning debut in 2012, J. Tijn has persistently delivered searing slabs of uncompromising techno. Often bordering on the deranged, the Londoner has continued to dazzle with his demonic vision of bare bones techno (as heard in 'Yearn' above).
