Friday 4th November at Sankeys

Friday 4th November sees Colour return to Sankeys to lay out a banquet  of tasty techno nuggets around the magnficent centrepiece that is Ben Sims' Killa Productions.

One of the true heroes of UK dance music, Ben’s relentless approach to musical style and jaw dropping technical ability make him a brilliantly inspiring DJ to watch. One of the first DJs to mix on four (yes four!) decks, his fearless dexterity enables him to play hard and funky, and still a ferocious spectacle in the flesh. Sankeys has witnessed his ruthless ability on many times before and welcomes the master back with open arms.

Support comes in the shape of Paul Mac, Sims’ partner in crime and musical soul mate on their highly feted Killa Productions imprint who will be tussling head off with Ben in the booth.

German firebrand Monoloc goes head to head with London’s own Tommy Four Seven in the other epic battle, both hailing from Chris Liebing’s already seminal CLR. The label has been championing everyone from new talent including Alex Bau and DJ Emerson to some of techno’s leading luminaries including Marcel Dettmann and Robert Hood. CLR is one of the scene’s hottest labels and is currently flourishing as one of the coolest of the pack; Monoloc and Tommy will be showcasing why they are from just a handful of its esteemed representatives as they debut at Sankeys.

Saturday 5th November at Sankeys

Saturday night is pure house and techno, pitting two of America's most iconic musical cities against each other with Visionquest's Lee Curtiss and Chez Daimer representing Michigan and Chicago respectively.

Lee Curtiss represents the Motor City, the young buck currently at the vanguard of musical invention as one fourth of Michigan’s finest Visionquest collective. Introducing more songs into electronic music, as well as warmer textures and ambient remixes, Visionquest have led the way with the deep house resurgence, igniting across the globe.

And in the opposite corner is Chez Damier. Representing the windy city is the master of the sound, a guy who was at the top of the second wave of producers in the early nineties. As part of Kevin Saunderson’s vaunted KMS imprint and the equally revered Prescription records, his timeless slew of tracks included ‘I never knew Love’ and ‘Can You Feel It’, whilst his production resume has shown no signs of relenting. Support comes from Sankeys’ own Ellesse and Jozef K, and Idiosync and Erdbeerschnitzel.
