Sheffield's post-industrial roots mean it’s a prime location for beer gardens. Many of the old factories and disused warehouses have been converted into lively bars; some are situated on riverbanks, and others are made from massive shipping containers.
But no matter which Sheffield beer gardens you decide to sink six hours in, one thing remains: you’ve got plenty of choice. And when you’re planning a weekend with your mates, trying to figure out where to take the family or gearing up for that birthday blowout, it’s crucial that you get it right.
That’s where we come in. To help you decide, we’ve rounded up a list of the best beer gardens in Sheffield. From student haunts, cosy riverside watering holes and long-standing institutions, we’re sure you’ll find something that will be a hit with the whole group.

We’re not sure if you can ask for much more, really. Plus, SteelYard regularly hosts events, but if you simply want to rock up and see what’s happening, the venue is more than welcoming.
