After being denied its eviction appeal, Sheffield’s The Leadmill has announced its final events.

The beloved music venue has stood in Sheffield for over 45 years, with the venue's current owners operating on the site since 1980. Having their eviction appeal denied last month, they were instructed to vacate the premises within the following three months, after a three-year legal battle.

Over the weekend, the legendary venue, which was instrumental in helping to develop the careers of bands like Pulp, Arctic Monkeys, and Bring Me The Horizon, shared a post about the venue's final events and the future of the Leadmill, saying, “After over four decades of unforgettable nights, historic gigs and a community that has stuck with us through it all, Saturday 28th June 2025 will be the final event held at The Leadmill.

“To everyone who has supported us, whether from around the corner or across the globe; thank you. This place was built on love, laughter and loyalty. While our walls might be changing this isn’t the end for us.”

The K's will play the final ever live gig at the venue on Sunday 22nd June, with the last club nights on Saturday 28th June being The Leadmill Presents: Pete McKee's Youth Club Disco and the final Sonic party

They’re also bringing back the famous Arctic Monkeys club night for a final run on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th, plus a Bring Me The Horizon night and an ABBA night. Other gigs also include Tom Lawrinson and King Creosote.

The Leadmill’s post then goes on to explain how the 100+ events in the venue’s calendar will be moved to different Sheffield venues, including The Foundry, Yellow Arch, Corporation, Crookes Social Club, FORGE, and more.

The Leadmill urged ticketholders for events scheduled to take place at the venue to check their inboxes and social media for updates about rescheduling.

The post thanks the "thousands of artists, suppliers, collaborators, and local businesses we've worked with over the years", as well as "the engineers and bar team to the box office, security, cleaners, promoters, DJs, photographers, crew, and absolutely everyone behind the scenes."

The Leadmill team also asks for fans of the venue to "send [them] a 'Love Letter to The Leadmill'" so they can "compile [the posts] as part of a future project".

"The Leadmill has always been more than a building and that is something that you can't just buy. It's the people, the spirit, tand the stories that have made it what it is. Wherever we go, we'll be taking that with us."
