The Great Escape, Europe's biggest platform for under the radar music, returns to multiple venues across Brighton on Thursday 14th May until Saturday 16th to celebrate it's tenth year in operation.

Year on year, the festival has continually gave scope to some of the most exciting new bands destined to hit stardom. With over 150 artists set to appear, leaving musical heads spoilt for choice, the stacked up festival bill will undoubtedly unearth an abundance of hidden gems.

Building on a spectacular previous appearance, soul rock four piece Alabama Shakes have been invited back to soundtrack the festivals grandest stage at Brighton Dome. They've since made the grade on both sides of the Atlantic, featuring on the likes of KEXP below, and if their fiery approach is anything to go by then this one is nailed on to blow that out of the water.

Other notable appearances taking place across venues scaling from pubs to churches, include psychedelic pop group Django Django. Also present is hotly tipped LA songwriter Tobias Jesso Jr, BBC Sound of 2015 nominees Slaves and eclectic North London troupe Real Lies

The hordes of forward thinking music will be accompanied by The Great Escape Convention, a series of events that focus on four topical debates within the music industry. These will be explored via a number of key speakers, debates, presentations and seminars.
