The Chainsmokers release video to new track 'Kanye'

Earlier this year, the world witnessed the arrival of irreverent EDM duo The Chainsmokers, who unleashed one of the most ridiculous, funny and damned catchy big room records yet - '#Selfie', a track that went top five on iTunes in 43 different countries. Blimey.

Following up a hit like that is a difficult task, but they seem to have nailed it with 'Kanye', which according to our sources is currently top ten in nine different countries around the globe, and ranking number one on Hypemachine. 

The record gets releases in the UK on October 12th, the day after they join Laidback Luke's Super You&Me party at Manchester's Victoria Warehouse (head here for more on that). Stream the video below.

Contrary to what you might think from the title, the track isn't a swipe at our lord Yeezus, or in fact an indictment of celebrity culture. Alex Pall, one half of the duo enlightens us - 'It’s about just owning it no matter what you’re doing. Whether you’re on top of the world partying in a penthouse or you’re driving an old car playing your favourite song, it’s about enjoying the moment you’re in and feeling like you’re the king.'

The double team have joined up with LA- based Indie pop duo Siren for this one, resulting in a track that is in some way a creative departure from their previous efforts, right up until the two minute 25 second mark that is, where their distinctive EDM know-how shines through, resulting in another club banger, destined to rinsed at some of the biggest EDM fests across the globe.
