It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you Glasgow (spent a long time thinking of that one), and it's only a matter of time until the weans descend into the annual state of the festive frenzy. 

The big day is still a little while off, but we know how kids are. And we can't blame them, Christmas is just so much fun! Especially when you get to meet Santa.

Visiting one of Santa’s grottos is the perfect way to feel the magic of the festive season. So, to help you find the perfect one, we’ve gathered the best Santas’ grottos in Glasgow for you to check out this Christmas.

Santa's Grotto @ BAaD

When: Wednesday 24th December 2025

Where: Barras Art And Design (BAaD) in Glasgow

The big man is heading to BAaD’s festive grotto on Christmas Eve. Bring the whole family along to visit Santa and his elf, capture the magical moments on camera, and leave with a special gift. Meet him before the big day, and maybe even catch a festive film afterwards to warm up for the best day of the year.

Christmas Kids Party and Movie Screening

When: Sunday 14th December 2025

Where: ARTA in Glasgow

Santa stops by at Arta ahead of his journey across the globe - so of course the Arta team decided to throw a party! There'll be a playroom with toys and games, a sweets table, a finger buffet (served 1pm - 4pm), finger painting, and a film screening for those who want to join (2pm).

Pancakes with Santa

When: Sunday 21st December 2025

Where: Venue in Paisley

Pancakes and Santa - it can’t be beaten! 

Roughly a 25-minute drive from Glasgow, over in Paisley, is the opportunity to get stuck into a bunch of fluffy pancakes (with your chosen toppings, of course). While the kids grab a hot cocoa, the adults can enjoy a mulled wine. After breakfast, the weans can meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes, and snap a festive picture. Christmas is the cosiest time of year, and this fun, comforting event is all about the cosy vibes.

Santa’s Grotto

When: 6th, 7th, 13th, 20th, and 21st December 2025

Where: Dockyard Social in Glasgow 

The very best of Glasgow’s Santas’ grottos for those with pups, Dockyard hosts some dog-friendly grottos this year. 

The West End food hall invites weans to meet the big man, enjoy the holiday magic, explore the grotto, and capture precious memories in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. And if you want some festive food and drink to further soak into the festive spirit, you can grab some from the stalls.

Booking your time slot for the grotto automatically reserves a table for your party.

If you want more festive fun, they’ll also be hosting wreath making, bauble painting, PEEK Christmas market, a visit from The Grinch, and more. 

 


 

Santa's Grotto 2025

When: Sunday 23rd November - Wednesday 24th December 2025

Where: Dobbies Garden Centre in Braehead

A 20-minute drive from Glasgow can take you to Dobbies Garden Centre, where they have plenty of festive events. 

Focusing on the grotto for now, head over for a warm welcome from the elves and embark on the North Pole adventure. Explore snowy scenes, ice fish with penguins, help the polar bears with ice hockey, and shoot snowball hoops before meeting Santa. You'll get a present (as long as you're on the Nice list) and a professional photo to remember it forever.

Dobbies also runs a quiet grotto (no music, twinkling lights off) for children who may have additional needs, Santa Paws (yep, take your pups to meet Santa!), Santa's Breakfast, and Santa’s Arrival, a free event with Santa and live entertainment on the 23rd November. 

 


 

Meet Santa

When: weekends from 22nd November, plus 22nd and 23rd December 2025

Where: St. Enoch Centre in Glasgow

Open every weekend from the 22nd of November (plus 22nd and 23rd December), St. Enoch Centre's free grotto is back. Everyone can meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes, snap a selfie, and leave with a chocolate lolly in hand.

Entry is free and booking isn’t necessary, but donations to Beatson Cancer Charity, which supports people with cancer, are encouraged.

 


 

Santa & Elf Grotto with Playtime

When: multiple dates from Saturday 6th - Monday 22nd December 2025

Where: Fun Street, Silverburn Shopping Centre in Glasgow 

For all those on the Nice list aged 1-10, Fun Street's grotto returns with magic and laughter.

A complete day out for the family, this grotto experience boasts an hour of playtime, the chance to meet Santa (and his elf!) one-to-one in his cosy grotto, and festive stories and games.

Fun Street will also be hosting a Christmas market on 29th and 30th November, filled with stalls full of fun for kids, and Brunch with the Grinch (5th, 13th, and 19th December).

 


 

Santa's Grotto 2025

When: multiple dates in December, plus 29th & 30th November 2025

Where: Edenmill Farm in Glasgow 

Drive 20 minutes to Edenmill for a wholesome festive family day. 

Here, everyone gets to post their letters to Santa, have a personal visit with Santa and Mrs Claus in their charming grotto, choose a gift from Santa’s Toy Shop, and have the opportunity for a festive photo on Santa’s sleigh. Finally, before you go, head into Santa’s Farm Yard to hold and feed Santa’s furry friends. 

They're also hosting Breakfast with Santa - only tickets for the 6th and 7th December are left. 

 


 

Winter Wonderland

When: from Sunday 23rd November - Wednesday 24th December 2025

Where: Valley View at Gouldings in Rosebank, Carluke

About a half-hour drive from Glasgow, Valley View’s Winter Wonderland experience is definitely one of the best grottos near Glasgow this year. The proof? The award-winning grotto team! 

Jump aboard Santa’s VR Enchanted Express. You’ll depart from Tinsel Town Station and make your way to Candy Cane Lane, where you'll find candy canes, giant dandipops, and floating iced gems. End with marshmallow toasting and unlimited fun fair rides. 

Valley View also offers autism-friendly sessions with less noise and other accommodations to ensure everyone can enjoy the festive fun, and they’ll also be hosting other Christmas events like breakfast and supper with Santa.

 


 

Meet Santa

When: weekends from Saturday 6th - Sunday 21s December 2025, plus 22nd - 24th

Where: Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow 

Partnering with Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, Buchanan Galleries gives the weans the chance to meet Santa and his elves, share Christmas wishes, and snap a photo for the memories. Everyone, of course, will receive a present!

One of the best Santas’ grottos in Glasgow this year, entry to the grotto is free, with any donations going to the charity to help the Royal Hospital for Children.

This year, they're taking it up a level with more festive fun, from arts and crafts sessions and the chance to write a letter to Santa before sending them off to the North Pole.

 


 

Family Fun Xmas Rave

When: Saturday 13th December 2025

Where: The Classic Grand in Glasgow

Switch things up a bit with a family Christmas rave! In the big room, there’ll be party DJs, balloon modelling, games, face painting, character appearances, a bubble machine and confetti canons, free cakes, and prizes for the best fancy dress. In the smaller, quieter room, bouncy castles, play mats, a sweet shop, hot dogs, and more keep things lively. 

Ravers of all ages are invited to get into the Christmas spirit to the soundtrack of old skool anthems.

Mary's Meals Christmas Market Glasgow

When: Saturday 15th - Sunday 16th November 2025

Where: The Social Hub in Glasgow

There’s no grotto at this one, but hey, it’s free and full of festive vibes! This Christmas market features a selection of stalls from small Scottish businesses with books, jewellery, art, homeware, cards, crafts, foodie gifts, and more. 

Hosted by volunteers, proceeds from the market will go to Mary’s Meals, a charity that provides school meals to children living in poverty.
