With Spotify users already able to share favourite songs, podcasts, and audiobooks (and buy Skiddle tickets) with friends and family via other social media platforms, Spotify Messages now allows a dedicated in-app space for sharing and spreading word-of-mouth recommendations, which the app stated has “always been at the heart of the Spotify experience.”
The app has begun to roll out Messages to Free and Premium users aged 16 and over on mobile devices, while content can still be shared across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, TikTok, and more. “This is just the beginning,” the company wrote on their website, and expressed excitement at continuing, “building and refining the experience for more Spotify users around the globe in the months ahead.”
