Following two years of sell out events the South West Four festival returns in 2006 spread over the August Bank Holiday Weekend giving clubbers in both London and Cardiff the opportunity to enjoy what is fast shaping up to be one of the UK’s premier dance events! As part of the Metro Weekender 2006, Saturday 26th sees us begin the weekend at our spiritual home on Clapham Common in London for our third year welcoming 20,000 dance music fans to worship at the temple of rave whilst and for the first time on Sunday 27th August we not only bring our unique party vibe, but some of the biggest names in dance to Coopers Field, Bute Park in Cardiff!

Conceived in 2004, the South West Four initially started as a party for 10,000 of London’s clubbing elite dancing the afternoon away to the likes of Sasha, Xpress 2 and Erick Morillo. 2005 saw the event double in size and stature as a world heavyweight line up including the likes of Carl Cox, Sasha and John Digweed performed to over 20,000 smiling faces. This year’s event not only sees us host parties in both cities but also join forces with fellow London co-horts Get Loaded In The Park (the event that takes place a day later in London) to offer party people in both cities the opportunity to buy weekend tickets to both events!

Sat 26th August – South West Four London

Saturday’s South West Four line up features perhaps the biggest and best DJ line up that a London-based dance festival will see this summer. Spread over three MASSIVE arenas the Main Outdoor Arena plays host to world heavyweights such as Carl Cox & Friends, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed. Sander Klienenberg (exclusive DVDJ Set) James Zabiela, Stanton Warriors, and Desyn Masiello whilst the legendary Pete Tong hosts the ‘Essential London Arena’ in conjunction with club nights Dig Deeper, Harlem Nights and Type featuring DJs Steve Lawler, Danny Howells, Seb Fontaine and the world exclusive live performance from UK No 1 artist The Shapeshifters! Radio 1 will be recording live for a Radio 1 broadcast, to be aired after the event. Moving things up a gear Arena Three is hosted by premier London club nights Heat UK, Serious & The Gallery welcoming Radio 1 DJ Judge Jules and auntie Beeb’s favourite DJ Fergie alongside Italian techno legend Mauro Picotto, Tall Paul, Sander Van Doorn, Matt Hardwick & Ian Betts. Whilst Arena Four is still TBA!

Sun 27th August – South West Four Cardiff

Promoted in association with Cardiff’s longest running club night ‘Time Flies’ Sunday’s event cherry picks the key headliners from the London event, adds a splash of that special Welsh magic and looks set to bring the capital the dance event it has been waiting for!  Carl Cox & Friends – Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, John Digweed, Steve Lawler, Seb Fontiane and Paulo Mojo head up the charge in the Main Outdoor Arena whilst Arena Two sees event co-promoters Time Flies join forces with London’s The Gallery and local hard dance heroes Bionic to bring you the sounds of the queen of Hard House Lisa Lashes plus Gallery resident Tall Paul and Italian techno legend Mauro Picotto alongside residents Dave Eaves, Cally & Juice, Stu Brady and Brian M Vs McBunn. Last but by no means least Arena Three sees South Wales’ leading house nights L’America and Cool House go head to head for a full-on house-a-thon featuring US House legend Sandy Riviera and Danny Howells alongside residents Craig Bartlett, Dave Mills, Gareth Hopkisn, Matt Joy and Rick Latham from Catapult Records.
