Skye Newman wins BBC Sound Of 2026

This year's winner of the annual BBC Sound Of has been revealed as Skye Newman. The aim of the award is to recognise artists who could go on to become huge names in the future.

In the past, winners have included the likes of The Last Dinner Party, Michael Kiwanuka, Pinkpantheress and Chappell Roan. Newman hails from South East London and has found success on TikTok, with her debut single 'Hairdresser' being released last year and its follow-up 'Family Matters' reaching an impressive fifth in the UK singles chart.

Newman has toured with Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi already, and the Sound Of award is just the latest of her achievements.
