For the first weekend in February, Sankeys throw forward a double tour de force of musical showcases, with the return of Tribal Sessions on the Friday and a No.19 Music Showcase on Saturday with Art Department.

Friday 3rd February: Tribal Sessions with John Digweed and Timo Maas

The definitive party of the early twenty first century, Tribal Sessions was the club-night that helped push Sankeys to the forefront of club land and remains one of their most iconic nights to this day. Its a true old school love in as well on the 3rd starring John Digweed and Timo Maas; two DJs who summed up the deep and dirty vibe Tribal was all about.

But this is no revisionist music policy. John remains one of the most important and highly coveted jocks of our times, his breathtaking technical ability matched by a searing passion for new and exciting music which positions him above his immediate peers. And Timo remains a man constantly in pursuit of reinvention, his rolling house grooves underpinned by a sexy swagger with the glut of new material pushed out by him and Italian wunderkind Santos. Original Sessions resident Greg Vickers and Rekids bassline beacon James Teej offers support.

Saturday 4th February: No.19 Music Showcase with Art Department

24 hours later and its all about a duo who owned 2011, Art Department. Check the RA top 100 DJs poll of the last two years and Art Department are the standout act on the basis of their meteoric rise; nowhere to be seen in 2010 and gate-crashing the poll at number 6 this time round. This can be partly attributed to their monster Without You track, a record that ushered in the slow and seductive sound of deep house that dominated dance floors everywhere from the Balearics to Buenos Aries. But the real reason is as well as having a sound very much the du jour of 2011 and 2012, they are a DJing and production duo with real guile, soul and flair, helping to further consolidate the success of Crosstown Rebels continued global expansion.

Theyll be ably backed up by Rebels lynchpin Deniz Kurtel, the American chanteuse whose design prowess bolstered Wolf + Lambs infamous New York hotel parties and a girl with more than enough groove and guts of her own. Nitin and No Artificial Colours round off a killer session.
