February sucks ? mostly. On the weekend of the 24th the weariness of British winter, freezing rain and right-wing populism was interrupted and briefly forgotten, some of team Gadzooks headed to Leeds for another shit-hot shindig from team Remedy.

The Temple of Gozer (basement) lured us in for a significant portion of the night, this sweaty pit of dnb, neuro & jungle is as frantic as it is physically exhausting. We skanked our little tits off and had to leave only because our bodies demanded a sit down and five pints of water.

In Malfoy Manor (the chill space) we found some much needed cushions and sofas to rest our tired raving feet, though the soundsystem packed enough punch to drag people from their comfort to shake their stuff. Psychedelic wonderment covered the walls, a particular highlight being the deceptive holographic horror portraits that caught our lysergic brains off-guard.

Headliner Eat Static took his place in Dr Evil?s Layer (main room), but due to unforeseen circumstances had to play his live set without the protection of any sharks with freakin? laser beams attached to their heads. His set was maniacal and eclectic, and he demonstrated a real knack for showmanship that must come with 25 years experience playing his own brand of psy techno.

The night was seen off in Jabba?s Palace (bar room) and despite some trouble from a couple of pesky Rodian bounty-hunters, we had enough energy to tuck in to some breaks, dnb, glitch-hop and bassline; it was very tasty indeed.

The guys and gals at team Remedy smashed it once again; massive thanks to all who worked so hard to put the night together.
