Pop Up Party continue with their residency at Nottingham's Riverbank Bar and Kitchen on Spring bank Holiday Sunday by flying over from the states one of house music's most celebrated veterans.

As one half of Masters At Work, Kenny 'Dope' Gonzalez was responsible for throwing some of New York's most memorable block parties from as early as 1985, influencing the likes of Todd Terry who went on to use the name for his first two productions. The duo grew even more notorious when they began using their party starting nous to write some of the most distinctive dance records of all time.

As a solo artist Kenny too has been responsible for creating a wealth of seminal house records. His still fresh 'The Bomb!' for example was a runaway success across Europe with its groovy as hell basslines, roaring brass section, preacher samples, and funk aesthetic. We've embedded the full 14 minute version above for your listening pleasure.

The hugely influential American is a truly gifted DJ and turntablist too (check out his Skiddle Podcast below), with his sets providing a heady concoction of everything from house to hip hop, latin to jazz, funk, soul and reggae.

Tom Crane joins him alongside Iain Newton for a selection of deep, disco and tech house. This is all set to be one hell of a party, with one of the finest DJs in the business taking charge. Nice one Pop Up Parties.
