Metal legend Ozzy Osbourne has died, confirmed via a statement from his family, just weeks after his final gig.
A statement from Osbourne’s family said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.” No cause of death has been given.
The Black Sabbath frontman was known for hits like ‘Paranoid’, ‘Iron Man’, and ‘War Pigs’ with his band Black Sabbath, as well as his solo material, like the iconic ‘Crazy Train’.
Tributes have begun pouring out from those in the music world, with Metallica posting a broken heart emoji.
Metallica were one of the acts to join the Birmingham metal icon at his farewell gig on 5th July, alongside Slayer and Guns N’ Roses.
Osbourne had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019, and had experienced other health issues in recent years.
