Just check out some of these Manchester club nights happening in the first few weeks of the month, none of which will set you back more than a fiver.

Funkademia, £5

Every Saturday from January 7th, Mint Lounge

There's no rest for the wicked, and Manchester's longest running club night jumps straight back on it after their legendary NYE party, with a weekly dose of funk, soul, disco and house classics. With Funkademia parties taking place on Saturday the 7th, the 14th, the 21st and the 28th January and entry costing a mere £5, it's a no brainer for anyone looking for a good night out in the first few weeks of the year.

Remake Remodel, £2

Every Monday from January 9th, South Nightclub

Manchester's anarchic Monday night party returns to the legendary South nightclub in January, bringing a weekly dose of alternative rock n' roll to the city's favourite basement dive. Promising to play tunes from the likes of BRMC, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Yuck, Pixies, The Black Keys, The Kills, Interpol and many more, Remake Remodel is the perfect place to kick your January blues into touch. Insight, £3

Friday 13th January, The Contact Theatre

After a successful joint event with Foundation at Kora, Insight rolls up to the Contact Theatre on Friday 13th January for a night of drum & bass at the hands of Dispatch Recordings head Ant TC1, Pandemik's Antagonist, Heavy Rain's Naked Swing and other major players of the UK D&B scene.

Departure, £4.50

Friday 13th January, South Nightclub

After a rather good party with the Wildkats in December, Departure begins 2012 with the infamous Buckley (Hot Creations/ One Records/ 2020 Vison) and up and coming talents Cera Alba (Hot Creations/ Illusion Recordings), Brett Sinclair and Oliver Drops. It all takes place at South Nightclub, with sound provided by Funktion-One. Advance tickets are just £4.50.

Each Friday from January 6th, 5th Avenue

January blues? Pah. At Manchester's legendary indie institution 5th Avenue the party never stops, and each Friday in January the club will lay on a post-festive spread of Indie favourites, alternative dance and classics for your delectation. Entry is just £3, and with cheap-as-chips drinks prices, you can get that Friday Feeling without feeling the pinch.
