We love music! We go to festivals! And then we noticed something weird; every fest we went to there just seemed to be a lot fewer female acts than male acts...

We rubbed our eyes; it is 2016, were we crazy? Then we did some head counting; we were astonished and not in a good way!

Of COURSE there are bands out there with women in them, and female singers everywhere...OBVIOUSLY women are playing at festivals, but the actual, representational numbers do not lie.

Next. we got listening to what musicians were saying; both men and women... that there is STILL a glass ceiling in music... that girl musicians get passed over for guys regardless of how good they were... again, what the?!

We rubbed our ears! How could this possibly be true?!

Just like a an optical illusion, once we saw it we totally got it. And then we became annoyed; because we go to a festival for fun and good times, to chill out and not take life seriously, but we can't unnotice this.

So we came up with a solution... Pandorafest!

To be perfectly clear; it is NOT a women only event - guys are welcome in the bands - but it IS an event that simply makes SURE that enough women are onstage. Female bands, female musicians, female DJ's or female singers are the focus, but of course a band doesn't have to bury their male bass player in the garden to play Pandorafest. Guys are welcome to play but we just want to see a good balance of the genders in any band!

Some find these specifications offensive - that is not our intention. but then again Pandora was a girl who did what she wasn't supposed to do; she broke the rules, opened a box and let a lot of trouble into the world...Trouble can be a good thing when it shakes things up!
