The Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) will be providing investment, who estimate its possible completion in 2029. The £76m project will be operated by ATG Entertainment, one of the leading organisations in the live music sector, who have run the Milton Keynes Theatre since its opening in 1999.

The new venue’s site, the Old Bus Station in Elder Gate, is currently used by the Winter Night Shelter, who will relocate to nearby Wolverton. According to MKDP, the new venue can bring 300,000 to the city every year and could create around 70 new jobs for the local area.

The chair of MKDP, Nicola Sawford, told BBC News that the possible new venue will “strengthen Milton Keynes' reputation as a destination for music, culture, and events." ATG’s chief operating officer, Nick Potter, added that the project will be “a world-class destination.”
