Mint Club's 15th birthday, featuring Seth Troxler

Leeds has long since been a breeding ground for exciting and original electronic music, with a thriving music culture being continually prevalent in the Yorkshire city. Nowhere has incessantly showcased the public’s love for exciting new music quite as well as Mint Club, who have perpetually introduced to Leeds and clubbers from all over the country a whole host of artists and pioneers at the pinnacles of their careers.

Add to that last year's overwhelmingly successful inauguration of Mint Festival, and it becomes plain to see just how popular this unpretentious club has become, gaining fans from far and wide.

Now at the brink of its 15th year in business, Mint is still as fresh (sorry) as it was when it first opened it doors. Despite undergoing a substantial facelift as well as hosting a surfeit of different club nights as time has past, one thing has remained the same: its reputation as one of Leeds best underground clubs.

To commemorate its turning the ripe old age of 15, the organizers have put together one hell of a lineup to celebrate its birthday in style on Saturday 11th May 2013.

Heading proceedings will be Detroit technician, now Berlin based innovator, Seth Troxler. The quirky, mustachioed maverick has, since 2007, been treating us to some of the most exciting, unique, and genre bending house music we've had the privilege of witnessing.

Blending influences from Theo Parrish to Juan Atkins, alongside the sounds of early acid and funk, all encased in a hefty, hypnotic haze, with sporadic, sleazy, vocals; Seth’s productions have successfully gained favour with DJs and audiences all over the world. This is paralleled fully by his DJing style. Named as Resident Advisors DJ of the year last year, and with a hectic festival schedule coming up, its clear to see just how popular he is, and with good reason. Mint Club’s birthday provides an excellent opportunity to catch him doing what he does so well, live, in the flesh.

Joining Seth will be Berlin born Carsten Klemann. Carsten is a chap known to play his card close to his chest. What we know for sure is that Carsten is a DJ in the purest form of the word. The sheer amount of time and patience, combined with his raw ability in order to get his craft so finely tuned doesn't bear thinking about. His capability of reading the crowd combined with his insane technical prowess make him a joy to behold.

With such an enticing lineup combined with Mint Club’s Berlin inspired setup and heavyweight bespoke sound system, you can be sure that one hell of a filthy rave up is on the cards. We can’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate such an iconic birthday party.
