We were rightly excited about the news of Gatecrasher’s trancetastic 20th Birthday celebrations when they were announced earlier in the year, the iconic brand celebrating entering their third decade with a who’s who of the trance superstars that defined the clubnight during it’s late nineties superclub phase.

With scheduled sets from Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten , John O'Callaghan, Marco V, Scott Bond, Matt Hardwick, Akira Kayosa and many more it added up to a mouth-watering ensemble for anyone who appreciates the current or classic appeal of the genre.

Well Gatecrasher have since gone onto add an even more exciting caveat for the event, bringing techno demi-god Mauro Picotto to the bill for a world-exclusive classics set. The man behind Megantie might now be known for his blisteringly exciting techno sets but he first came to prominence as a trance artist behind monolithic hit’s such as ‘Komodo’ and ‘The Lizard’ (stream above), his record label BXR becoming synonymous with the tech-trance sound powered by the likes of Mario Piu, Joy Kitikonti and many more.

For one night only Picotto will return to his roots just for Gatecrasher, delivering the kind of fast and ferocious metallic euphoria he would regularly administer during his famed six hour sets at The Republic in Sheffield; occasions that were frequently road-blocked. His set from one of the many Gatecrasher NEC events defines this relentless mandate from 2002 (stream that below).

It’s nigh on impossible that Mauro will ever play a set of this nature ever again, making the event even more a once in a lifetime option for the trance faithful. Click here for your tickets.
