As one of the stalwarts of UK Garage, a champion of the genre in its infancy and now one of its most beloved forefathers, Matt 'Jam' Lamont's tireless involvement in the scene has been integral to the success of the movement as a whole.

Following a residency at South London's The Arches, Lamont's career really sky-rocketed back in 1993 where a chance meeting between him and fellow DJ Karl 'Tuff Enuff' Brown gave birth to the now legendary production and remix team Tuff Jam. Leaving in their wake a massive back catalogue of defining records, both Tuff Jam and Matt 'Jam' himself have appropriately attained the status of figureheads in the UK garage scene.

Ahead of Matt 'Jam' Lamont's arrival at Back To 95's 14th Birthday party this Saturday, we asked the UKG don to run us through his top ten Jam joints, both from his solo work and as part of Tuff Jam, getting us well and truly hyped for the weekend's shenanigans.

Matt 'Jam' Lamont Presents The Jam Experience 'Feel My Love'

Made and released in 1991, this was one of the first sounds coming from UKG... that bass still works with what's happening today.

Mis-Teeq 'Why' (Matt Jam Lamont & DJ Face Remix)

Garage sing-a-long anthem ahoy! Mis-Teeq used our remix as the main mix and it got to number seven in the UK national charts.

Kristine Blond 'Love Shy' (Tuff Jam Vocal Mix)

A huge anthem with the ladies and another great garage sing-a-long. Our mix of this also charted national charts in the top 15.

TJR feat Xavier 'Just Gets Better'

This is a Tuff Jam and Banana Republic collaboration that still gives me tingles when I hear it. I remember Tony Humphries playing this on his radio shows and at Paul Trouble's Loft club - such great memories.

EMKYU ft DBB 'Gabrielle' (Matt Jam Lamont & Scott Diaz Remix)

Number one in the Main Traxsource Sales chart for five weeks in January 2012, go check it out.

U.B.P Presents Jay Williams 'Testify' (Tuff Jam 2 in 1 Dub)

One of my favourite Tuff Jam dubs and a stone cold Back To 95 anthem. Pure energy and bass.

Usher 'You Make Me Wanna' (Tuff Jam Classic Garage Mix)

Usher's very first single, which went number one worldwide with our mix getting played on lots of radio stations around the world, including in the US. I feel really privileged to have worked on this classic.

Sprinkler 'Don't Wanna Work No More' (Tuff Jam Dub)

Melodic groove and marimba bass - it never fails.

Tuff Jam 'Klubb Conektion' (Key Dub)

One of the most asked for tracks in my DJ sets and it always drives the dance floor crazy!

Tuff Jam ft Xavier 'Tumblin Down'

What can I say… This track rocks!
