Manchester’s next huge container village will bring 250+ creative spaces to Victoria North

Bromley Yard is set to open in Manchester featuring over 250 shipping containers for artists, musicians, food traders and independent businesses.

You may have thought Manchester’s container village love affair was over, but think again! After the vibrant success of the creative shipping container ecosystem of Pollard Yard, Meanwhile Creative are running it back and adding another huge new addition to the fold.

Bromley Yard, opening soon within the Victoria North area, is a massive new creative village made up of more than 250 shipping containers, and promises a sprawling new home for artists, musicians, makers, food traders and independent businesses alike. One that acts both as a place for creatives to work, collaborate and grow, and as a place for others to explore and maybe even buy that work.

In a recent announcement post, the callouts for creators to fill these spaces were clear: “Whether you are a maker, artist, musician, or independent business, this is a chance to be part of something massive from the ground up. A space to create, collaborate, and grow within a thriving creative community.”

Phase one launches later this year with more than 80 containers, including 20ft and 40ft units alongside the new lock-up studios. Further phases will see Bromley Yard eventually house more than 250 containers, making it one of the biggest developments of its kind in the city.

Expect a mix of studios, workshops and customer-facing units, alongside dedicated music spaces, retail units, food and drink traders, and lock-up studios aimed at offering low-cost creative space.
