The annual event, organised by Ribble Valley Borough Council, attracts thousands of food enthusiasts seeking the best Lancashire produce to Clitheroe town centre.
This year?s festival, which is sponsored by Clitheroe food company Deli Solutions, Lloyd BMW Colne and Fort Vale Engineering, features quality food and drink, inspirational chefs, family-friendly culinary activities and great music.
A huge array of foods, from organic meat and dairy goods made from traditional Lancashire breeds, to handmade pies and pastries, wonderful ice cream, delicious cakes and a feast of fruit and vegetables packed with authentic flavours, will be found at the festival, which is considered one of the best in the UK.
Stuart Carefoot, chairman of Ribble Valley Borough Council?s community services committee, said: ?The Clitheroe Food Festival is a great opportunity for food enthusiasts from across Lancashire to see what amazing local produce we have.
?The council has created a strong narrative around food over the years and we are delighted to be taking the lead on this year?s festival, which will provide vital support to food businesses across the borough.
?Festival-goers can expect top-quality artisan produce, as well as cuisine from further afield, while historic Clitheroe Castle will host family-friendly displays and stalls explaining how the purchase of local food and drink benefits the countryside and rural economy.?
