Love Saves the Day unveils the full programme for Slow Fashion Saves the Day in Bristol this weekend, featuring clothing workshops and swap shops, live DJs and interactive games.

Festival season is almost upon us, and one of the first items on the agenda should always be... is your wardrobe up to scratch? If not, don't worry, as Love Saves the Day are here too, well, save the day! 

This weekend, the iconic Bristolian festival are setting up a clothing hub for a whole day inside Sparks, one dedicated to the need for more slow fashion and one dedicated against the rise in throwaway culture. With the days' full programme now also revealed.

'Slow Fashion Saves The Day' will turn Sparks into a 'department store with a difference', space where festival-goers-to-be can swap, repair, and even customise their own (and each other’s) clothes. Expect hands-on, skill-sharing spaces where you can walk away with some genuinely unique fits for the festival season.

Speaking on the event, Charlotte Jackson, Sustainability Coordinator at Team Love, said: “Fast fashion has become the norm, especially around festival season, but it doesn’t have to be. This is about creating something social and genuinely useful, where people can learn new skills and leave with something completely unique. Bristol has such a strong culture of individuality and sustainability, so Sparks felt like the perfect place to bring that to life.”

The recently announced programme adds even more, including a packed run of drop-in workshops (running 1–5pm):

These include creating patches from deadstock materials with Pack Rat Dressing Room, upcycling shoe laces from scrap fabric with Paper Tales, making a scrunchie or headband with Ros, and creating festival epaulettes with Rethrindle CIC & Rebel Patch.

There’s also beginner-friendly embroidery with Maria Craftart, and sashiko and darning mending with Pack Rat Dressing Room, all running alongside the on-site swap shop, where you can trade in pre-loved pieces and give them a whole new life.

Across the space, things won’t just be hands-on either. There’ll be DJs soundtracking the day, including sets from locals AÆE and Safiye, plus interactive games hosted by Twisted Theatre, and even the chance to win weekend tickets to Love Saves the Day itself.

You’re encouraged to bring along any clothes you want to rework or swap, but if you turn up empty-handed, you’ll still be covered — with deadstock and recycled textiles available on-site, ready to be transformed.
