Swedish "Tech, noise and craftporn" designer and artist Love Hultén has released Works II, a new book documenting 66 of his custom-built synthesisers created between 2022 and 2025.
Out now in a strictly limited run of 600 copies, the hardcover release brings together more than 150 pages of Hultén’s recent work, combining detailed photography, design sketches and personal notes that chart the evolution of his distinctive, hands-on approach to electronic instrument design.
If you’re keen to explore Hultén’s latest creations, Works II is available now, with copies limited to a one-time print run.
Built for fans of tactile analogue hardware, leftfield synth culture, and stunning design, Works II offers a deep dive into Hultén’s world of wood, metal and circuitry. The book features his standout creations such as the Y-17 ferrofluid guitar-like synth; the pink noise lab with Taiga, Keystep, Microcosm, and a custom disc sequencer; and the biodata-driven Hymns from the Sun synthesiser, each blending functional electronics with sculptural design.
Alongside finished builds, the book sees Hultén share insight into his creative process, presenting early concepts and experiments that show how each instrument took shape. It’s a continuation of the ethos that has defined his work to date: treating synthesisers as both musical tools and physical art objects.
Hultén is already well known for projects including the Voxarray 61 modular synth, the Carrier37 modification for Korg’s Minilogue, and his playful Bivalvia boutique toy synths. Works II builds on that legacy, offering a focused snapshot of his most recent output for collectors, synth enthusiasts and design heads alike.
