Hi Linton Festival Group

Hope everyone is enjoying the slightly better weather (!). Ticket sales have picked up well now we're approaching the last few weeks, so don't delay if you're waiting to see what the forecast will be like!

Here is email number 2 giving you a better idea of who is appearing at the festival this year.

Ruby Turner - headliner Saturday (21.30). Probably most well known for appearing with Jools Holland in his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, Ruby makes her second appearance at Linton. She is best known for her albums and single releases on both sides of the Atlantic, and has sung backing vocals for others such as Bryan Ferry, UB40, Steel Pulse, Steve Winwood, Mick Jagger, as well as writing songs that have been covered by many artists including Lulu, Yazz and Maxi Priest. Be it soul, gospel, blues or jazz, Ruby is the genuine article when it comes down to her treatment of any song.

Sandi Thom - Saturday (19.30). She became widely known in 2006 after a series of webcasts and the success of the single "I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair)". Thom has released four studio albums: Smile... It Confuses People (2006), The Pink & The Lily (2008), Merchants and Thieves (2010) & "Flesh And Blood" (2012). Since that chart success she as shifted tack and pursued a far more blues/roots path (probably encouraged by boyfriend Joe Bonamassa!). She delivers a stunning set, backed by an incredibly talented band. Not to be missed!

Marquise Knox - Saturday (17.45). A real coup for Linton, this is his only UK appearance this summer. All the way from St Louis, Missouri this incredibly talented young man is carrying forward the spirit of blues giants like Lightnin' Hopkins, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and BB King. His appearance this year has caused quite a rumble amongst the blues fans, make no mistake!

The Nimmo Brothers - Saturday (16.00). Following the huge success of King King last year, we are excited to have the excellent twin guitar sound of Alan and Steve back at Linton for 2013. A mixture of well-honed original songs and classy covers will display what a fine pair of musicians these Glaswegian brothers are. High powered blues from Scotland!

Blues Shouter - Saturday (14.30). Connie Lush has been long recognised as one of the finest blues singers in the UK, winning 5 times 'Best Female Vocalist UK'. A previous favourite at Linton, they deliver an awesome mixture of Blues.

The final round of this years artists to follow soon.
