Latitude add Bobby Womack, Eddie Izzard and more to the line-up

Latitude Festival have announced another raft of names to their line-up today across the full spectrum of the festival’s music, comedy, film, theatre and literary focus. Musically Bobby Womack is the standout name, the soul survivor one of the most enduring of 20^th century icons who has never had a greater grasp on the world of popular music.

His lauded collaborations with Gorillaz marked a return to form before the hugely acclaimed 2012 released ‘Bravest man in the Universe’, his first original recording in eighteen years, ensured he remains one of the planet’s most dynamic voices.

He joins an already huge set of artists that includes electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk, Foals, Hot Chip, Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and many more. The other new musical additions number among them Hollie Cook, Deptford Goth, Joanna Gruesome and Wolf Alice.

Eddie Izzard is another eye-popping addition, the notorious comedian whose ability to take ideas to their most surreal capability has seen him win a flurry of awards, and achieve the status of being one of the nation’s most prominent stand-ups.

With his latest comedy tour Force Majeure hitting 28 countries across the globe, this is provides the rare opportunity to witness him in the salubrious surroundings of a summer festival.

Mark Lamarr’s God’s Jukebox over in the film and music arena also sees welcome new names, including the side band of the lead singer of Squeeze, Glenn Tillbrook and the Fluffers, their first performance for four years.
