Today, we're marking International Women's Day (Sunday 8th March 2020) with a new playlist, curated by the women here at Skiddle, featuring some of our favourite female artists and female-lead acts in 2020.
Appearing on the 45-track playlist you'll find the likes of Billie Eilish, Peggy Gou, Lizzo, Little Simz, The Big Moon, Arlo Parks, Nina Kraviz, Honey Dijon, PINS and loads more.
First celebrated over 100 years ago in 1911, the globally-recognised IWD aims to highlight the cultural, political, social and economic achievements of women, while also raising awareness against bias and taking action against gender equality.
According to PRS for Music figures, the number of female songwriters signing with them rose by 60% from 2018 to 2019, however, less than 19% of the total PRS membership are female, while the top ten male songwriters generated 67% more revenue than the top ten female songwriters.
On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March, Skiddle will team up with Shesaid.so, the global network of female music industry professionals, to launch the first ever Festival Manager Bootcamp designed specifically for women in London.
