2017 could host the last Glastonbury Festival as we know it for the next three years. According to an interview with Glastonbury FM, the festival's main man Michael Eavis has stated that a new festival will appear in 2019, following a fallow year for the main event next year.

The possible 2019 event, instead of replacing Glastonbury will be a festival in its own right, titled “The Glastonbury festival team presents... The Variety Bazaar”, and will take place "halfway to the Midlands", in a location with a single land owner. To ensure festival fans aren't confused, Emily Eavis tweeted this about the new venture:

After this year, Glastonbury Festival will likely resume its residency at Worthy Farm in 2020, while the Glastonbury team are looking at potentially holding a festival in this new location once every five years.
