Midnight Mile's beard wielding folkster ANDY OLIVERI sets out alone, crafting beautiful Americana reminiscent of Ryan Adams et al, Oliveri looks set to be a great force within UK folk in 2012. (I Started the fire records)

Of all the artists Ive reviewed so far, O. CHAPMAN undoubtedly hits top for me. The guitar in Morning Song is so simplistic yet so powerful. Accompanying this is Chapmans beautiful husky voice paired with some female vocals that work so well together. Again, Wasted Time includes intricate guitar playing with lyrics that float delicately in between every note. This is the kind of music that would send you to sleep instantly, in a good way. Chapman uses a different style in Never Said with a slightly more upbeat, strumming guitar pattern, again just as simple yet so effective. O. Chapman plays regularly in and around London, so go and listen for yourself and it will be the best thing youve done this year guaranteed. Ellie Rumbold - (For Folks Sake)

Singer-songwriter DREW WORTHLEY'S debut album, The Ember is one of those slow builders, a delicate affair with slight instrumentation, warm vocals and lyrics that are so passionate, so full of emotion, so personal that you almost feel like a voyeour leafing through the secret diaries of Drews life and you cant help but keep returning to his tales of love and loss. Sure you may say there are loads of singer-songwriters who pour out their heart and soul, wear their emotions as a badge of honour and share every thought, but few manage to do it with such grace and raw honesty, even less make you feel for every heartfelt lyric.
